Buccal & Sculpting Massage

Dermal therapist performing facial sculpting massage during Bespoke Buccal Ritual to reduce facial tension and puffiness.

What is Buccal Massage?

Buccal facial massage is an advanced facial sculpting and intraoral massage technique that works both externally and inside the mouth using single-use medical-grade gloves. By treating the muscles from both sides, buccal massage allows us to access deeper facial and jaw muscles that cannot be reached through traditional facial massage alone.

This specialised technique helps relieve jaw tension, support TMJ-related muscular tightness, improve circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage, reducing facial puffiness while promoting a naturally lifted and sculpted appearance. It's a popular choice for those experiencing teeth grinding, facial tension or anyone looking for a natural, non-invasive approach to healthy ageing.

At The Skin Suite Collective, every buccal facial massage is tailored to your individual needs. Whether your goal is relieving muscle tension, enhancing facial contours or simply slowing down and resetting your nervous system, each treatment is designed to leave you feeling lighter, more relaxed and visibly refreshed.

By combining therapeutic facial massage with advanced sculpting techniques, our buccal facial massage in The Vines, near Ellenbrook and Swan Valley, offers a holistic approach to both facial wellness and skin health.

Frequently asked questions

Is the massage performed inside the mouth?

Yes. A portion of the treatment is performed inside the mouth using single-use medical-grade gloves. This intraoral technique allows us to gently release the TMJ muscles responsible for jaw tension, clenching and facial tightness. The treatment is always performed professionally, hygienically and with your comfort in mind.

Can buccal massage help with jaw tension or TMJ?

Many clients experience relief from jaw tightness, teeth clenching and muscle tension after buccal massage. By releasing the muscles of the cheeks and jaw, the treatment may help improve comfort and mobility. While buccal massage is not a medical treatment or cure for TMJ disorders, it can be a valuable supportive therapy for muscular tension associated with the jaw.

Who is buccal massage suitable for?

Buccal massage is suitable for most people looking to relieve jaw tension, reduce facial puffiness, encourage facial sculpting or simply enjoy a deeply relaxing treatment. It's particularly popular among clients who clench or grind their teeth, carry stress in their face and neck, or are looking for a natural approach to healthy ageing.

Who should avoid buccal massage?

Buccal massage may not be suitable if you have active cold sores, oral infections, recent dental work, open wounds inside the mouth, uncontrolled TMJ pain, or certain medical conditions. If you're pregnant, have had recent facial surgery or fillers, or have any concerns about your suitability, we'll discuss these during your consultation to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you.

Is there any downtime?

No. There is no downtime following buccal massage, and you can return to your normal activities straight away. Some clients experience mild redness immediately after treatment due to increased circulation, which typically settles within an hour or two.
